The Early Years is a vibrant learning environment for all children in Nursery and Reception. We offer children a wide range of multi-sensory activities which cater for individual learning styles. Our approach is a balance between play - child initiated and planned as well as teaching skills such as reading, writing and mathematics.
Learning Environment
Children meet the requirements of the Early Years Curriculum by accessing a range of child initiated and adult led activities; learning through play in our indoor and outdoor classroom spaces. The indoor space is divided into different learning areas:
Reading garden and story sacks, role play and home corner, construction, small world imagination tray, investigation, sand, water, funky fingers including threading and tweezers, maths, writing, phonics and sound table, music, creation station, jigsaws.
The areas are provided continuously so that children can develop their knowledge in areas that interest them. The areas are enhanced throughout the year with activities and resources linked current topics.

We are also lucky enough to have access to the bigger playground where we regularly use the tyre obstacle course, adventure playground and use the extensive range of balance bikes, bikes, scooters, tricycles and cosy coupe cars with our traffic signs and cones.
