Happy Friday Everyone!
I hope everyone embraced mental health and wellbeing week. As a staff team we have had daily wellbeing challenges including submitting a video of us dancing, completing art and baking challenges and a whole staff quiz. On Tuesday, I managed to get out to Loweswater for a wonderful walk by the lake and surrounding habitat. It was magical seeing the bluebell covered woods and watching the lambs jumping and playing in the fields. I know many of you have been enjoying the outdoors and we cannot underestimate the impact it has on wellbeing. I hope the weather holds for more outdoor adventures next week.
Next week is the May half term holiday and teachers will not be setting lessons for pupils. From June 1st, the school will work as a hub for key workers and vulnerable children. This is a very strange time in the
history of our school, and you can imagine how complex the arrangements have been. Even when the school opens to more students, it will not be the same ‘school’ that students left in March. The children will work within learning groups or ‘bubbles’ and only mix with children in their own bubble and the staff assigned to it. There will also be some equipment which will not be accessible to pupils as it is difficult
to clean. (see attached document for more information).
Children are likely to be anxious about returning to school and will find changes to school routines and the building layout, strange and unsettling. Staff are aware of this and will help children to settle effectively. It would be helpful if parents could start to speak to children about going back to school and to prepare them for things being different.
Online learning will continue for those pupils remaining at home, thank you for your continuing support with this.
Federated Governing Body
Please can I remind all parents to take the time to contribute to the consultation on the federation of the
Governing bodies. There is information on the website. All responses will be analysed at the end of May and you can have your say using the Survey Monkey link:
