Weekly Message from the Headteacher

Happy Friday Everyone!

A chillier week but lots of sunshine to be enjoyed nevertheless.

There has been lots of information about school buildings re-opening to students in June as a result of the Prime Minister’s speech last weekend. Please read the documents which will be sent out with this newsletter, to help you begin to understand our plans moving forward. I will be writing to you again on Monday with more detailed information.

The document can also be found on the website by clicking the following link:

Additional support for struggling families

I have been given information of a scheme to support vulnerable families who are struggling financially and who have children eligible to free school meals. The scheme is for Copeland families and is being run by Rosehill theatre. They are providing warm meals for families up to three times a week. If you feel you require this kind of support you can do apply through the Citizen’s Advice Service (CSA) by calling 01946 693321.

If you are running out of books to keep your child reading at home, why not log onto a free service of e-books? All their books have Accelerated Reader tests, so children can read the e-books and then log onto Accelerated Reader and do a quiz. The website link is below:

This Oxford Owl link has free e-books too:

In order to prepare our Year Sixes for life at West Lakes Academy, they are sharing the following video from the Head of Year, Kate Dunne:

Federated Governing Body

Please can I remind all parents to take the time to contribute to the consultation on the federation of the Governing bodies. There is information on the website. All responses will be analysed at the end of June and you can have your say using the Survey Monkey link:

Stay well,
