Happy Friday everyone! I hope everyone had a good Bank Holiday and plenty of chocolate was consumed. I have been embracing the good weather and enjoying my daily walk with Freddie the dog. It does feel very odd to be working at home and I am really missing the buzz of daily life in school and the humour of our staff and children.
Parenting is hard work and parenting during a global crisis, is even more challenging. We love our children but being with them all the time can be stressful, even when things are going well. I know that many of you are embracing this time with your children and creating memories which will last a lifetime. But if you are wondering about how to improve your parenting or want some advice on ideas to support behaviour management you might want to try one of the free online courses being made available.
Cumbria County Council have invested in 3 award winning, quality marked, evidence based online courses by the Solihull Approach (a national NHS organisation). These courses are for ALL parents-to-be, parents, grandparents or carers of any child from the antenatal period to age 18 years. You don’t need to be struggling to do these courses. The courses are relevant to parents/carers of all children, including those with special needs, autism, ADHD etc. These courses are normally £19-£39 per person, but are FREE with the access codes below to all residents of CUMBRIA.

The child friendly puppet theatre has been a regular in school for many years. The children are familiar with the puppets who share stories which support wellbeing and social, emotional and spiritual development. As the theatre is no longer able to go into schools, they have taken their show online. You can access their videos on You Tube, with new videos appearing every day. I have also included some information to share with children about explaining COVID-19 which is being sent out with this email.
