Our school is a GOOD School
I really hope you enjoyed reading the report from the Ofsted inspector which was sent home with children this week. We are so proud of this report which details the progress we have made in the last few years on a journey of continuous improvement. One of the Key aspects of the report were comments made about our knowledgeable and dedicated Governors. The role of Governors is often overlooked in school but they do such a marvellous job - holding school leaders to account and providing support and encouragement. Governors help to provide external validation and an ‘outsider’s view’. Mr Parlett has been the Chair of our Governing Body for some years. He is a good friend, a moral person and has a secure understanding of our school needs. He is stepping down as Chair of the Governors this week as his working life is taking him abroad. He will be very sadly missed and I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his time, patience and dedication to the Thornhill family. We wish him all the best in his new job and hope to see him soon. Mrs Claire Morfoot will be succeeding Mr Parlett as Chair of Governors. Claire has had three children who have attended the school and been on the Governing Body for many years. I am excited to work with her and I am sure she would love to discuss her vision for the school with you as parents.
