The children met a world gurning champion.
It is great fun and quite tricky! This formed part of a local history project on the local annual Crab Fair.
The Reception children have been ordering numbers and matching numbers to quantities.
The children were challenged to build a bridge to span the tray.
They had Multilink and Lego and could work alone or as a team.
Painted Lady butterflies
Our butterflies hatched last week with the children absolutely fascinated. We released the butterflies into our garden.
We have been having a good look at our new library books this week.
Reception have been halving amounts using multilink and Cheerios!We half filled bottles and pots.Also, we cut the pancakes and bananas in half at snack time.
We have decorated eggs for Easter. Also, we have made cards and been egg dumping. The grand finale was an Easter Egg Hunt around the outdoor area.
Police Dog Handlers
Mr Johnny Mann visited school with his fantastic police dogs. We learnt how they could help Mr Mann do his job. It was great. The dogs found objects like a wallet the Ethan hid. At the end we were allowed to stroke the dogs
Writing about things in our lives:
The children have been writing about things that interest them including the school's Fundraising Bingo!
Reception have been writing about the garden.
We now have minature daffodils!
A Trip to the Doctors!
This week the children travelled into Egremont to visit the local Doctor's surgery. They have been finding out about the different jobs people in our community do.
Stickman Story Day
The children acted out theStickman story for parents and carers. Afterwards they made a Stickman, or woman, with their adults. Thank you for the support we had close to 100% parental support.
Fine Motor Skills
We have been working on our fine motor skills and coordination by hammering nails into a melon.
The Children in Reception have been creating a multicultural scrapbook. We are looking at countries and cultures that effect our own society. In Autumn Term we looked at Pakistan. We talked about people born in the UK who have family for there, people who have moved here from there and people who have visited. The children saw clothes,foods and listened to music.
As part of this we were extremely lucky to have a visit from a sitar player.
